Life is a bumpy road. Are you game?

Nunthar Pahad [Tihar'2010]
The wheels kick up some dirt, but you're able to pull it back. Yet no matter how hard you try to keep straight, something keeps jerking you to the side. You have so little control over anything anymore. And at some point, the struggle becomes too much--too tiring--and you consider letting go. Allowing tragedy...or whatever...to happen.

just like that.... DRAX

Speech processing... Wat is this? yes, i m in no mood of reading of about TTS or Speech Recognition... bt after today's heated discussion, i can sense that i got to do that... so wat's the plan of action?

well first i need to convince myself that i got to do it... and following to that, first i shud play text based on generic algorithm... and in the second method with limited database, it will play pre-recorded speech words... and so far that for speecg recognition, maybe i should look it for authentication in first place and will take it later... finally for the advanced user interface, i ll think of gesture recognition and face recognition.

Trip to Hoggenekal Falls.

Our fren, Ankit bhaiya got into Microsoft and finally we convinced him to sponsor the trip to Hogenekkal Falls as the treat. Sushil Dai could not join us and we missed him throughout the trip.

It was surprising, everyone had woke up so early. Ankit bhaiya had booked a Tempo-traveller and we started our trip around 7:30 am. We followed the Bangalore --> Hosur --> Krishnagiri --> Dharmapuri --> Hogenekal and when we reached Hogenekal Falls, it was 11 am after traveling 180 kms.

It is sometimes referred to as the "Niagara of India" and this waterfall is on the Cauvery River with Carbonitite rock everywhere. Coracles are primitive, light, bowl-shaped boats with a frame of woven grasses, reeds, or saplings covered with hides. The coracle boating is the interesting part of Hogenekkal... they charge around Rs 200 for 3 hours for a round trip. Our excitement knew no bounds when he boat-man took the coracle just under the waterfall (the water must be falling into the cauvery river channel with the rocks of heights more than 50 feet on the both sides of river... and probably the water-depth was 75 feet as the locals said.

Then, he took us to an island sort of place and you will find fresh fishes being cooked and served. I did take rice and sambar before swimming in the high current waterflow. After the lunch, the boat-man took us near to a low-falling waterfall and the depth of water was around 5 ft and we swim there for quite sometime and enjoyed the force the water falling onto our body... this part of swimming was interesting... and just before completing the trip in the cauvery, the boatman started rotating the coracle by rowing so fast, all of us were thrilled by the experience.

We reached back to our room around 8pm.

Forgot Linux root password.

1. Boot linux with rescue cd.
For that when shell comes, write
"linux rescue"
2. Mount the root using
"chroot /mnt/sysimage"
3. goto "/etc" and open "passwd"
4. search for item root passwd
5. Using your favorite text editor, edit the root entry of the
/etc/passwd file to remove the password, which is located between the first and second colons. Do this only if the password field does not contain an "x," in which case see below.

root:Yhgew13xs:0:0: ...

Change that to:

root::0:0: ...

If the password field contains an "x," then you must remove the
password from the /etc/shadow file, which is in a similar format.
Refer to the manual pages: "man passwd," and "man 5 shadow."

Note: Incorrectly editing any of the files in the /etc/ directory can severely screw up a system. Please keep a spare copy of any files in case you make a mistake.

I almost lost my .....

Got up around 9am... it's a lovely saturday, i said to myself... then myself alongwith Binayak went to see swimming pools in electronics city. The one at Golden Lions club was so small... then we went to Estate club, which again was smaller and unhygienic compared to the one at NGV.

On the way back, this stupid car stopped all of sudden and i happened to bang my bike on the car. It so happened that, this fellow did apply break, and so did I, next he accelerated and so did I... but all of sudden, in less than a sec, he applied brake and i got no time to react... hitting into the car.

I had a high impact on my body coz of the big fuel tank of the Fazer.... for almost 2 minutes, i could not bear the pain, i just got down of the vehicle (did not switch it off even) and sat on the ground and pointed towards the car to stop... i took me few minutes to get up and walk... i had almost lost my *****

the mud-guard of my bike was broken.... binayak had been talking with the car... it seems, another bike came suddenly infront of him and he had to apply break. I could not see fault with him either... and binayak drove me back to room... much later i felt pain in my knee and some scratches on my body....

We canceled plan of going anywhere... cooked at room... and the day past as usual.

Lesson of the day: "MAINTAIN ENOUGH DISTANCE FROM A VEHICLE AHEAD WHILE DRIVING".

Bike trip to Innovative Film City

The previous night frens from Jakkasandra and also Prem had come to my place. After receiving bumps for my birthday, and being thrashed my cake onto the face by Ankit, we had slept late in the night.

Amit Chaudhary came to my place around 10 am. Myself, Prem and Amit left for Innovative Film City around 10:30 am. We followed Nice road, cruising with average speed of 80km and top speed of 105 Kmph. Nice road as the name suggests is really nice, a four lane road with proper divider and it seems as if the road has teared-off the rocks apart and a beautiful road has emerged in between. We did stop in between to take some snaps.
The Innovative Film City(IFC) is located on the Bangalore - Mysore highway at Bidadi about 40 kms from Bangalore. Built on an area of around 50 acres it is supposed to be the biggest entertainment centre, theme park and much more. The film city has several small attractions such as world famous Ripley's Believe it or not museum, Louis Tussad wax museum, Funplex, Aqua Kingdom (artificial beach), Dinosaur world, cartoon city. It is also having a gokarting zone, a mini golf course, a 4D amphitheater, fossil museum. The entry fee to the park is Rs.50. In side park there is separate fee for each of the attractions.

We enjoyed there and when I returned my room, it was late evening. And I knew, I have to go office tomorrow :(
